its harder to play ac now because in certain areas of maps the shadows are even darker than usual and i am unable to see the other team or player if they are in the shadows. Any ways to fix this?

Have you tried adjusting your gamma levels? If that doesn't work, try adjusting your screen's brightness level and contrast. If that doesn't work, it might be something faulty in the game it's self. Try my suggestions first. If this continues, you might have to re download and install assault cube.
